Day 2 - May 11th

Well, the day started with a bang...a big bang as Donna opened the drawer that we had a lot of our food stored in and the railed bracket broke and concurrently the bottom fell out of the drawer. Ah, the quality construction of recreational vehicles. An hour later, the rail bracket has been replaced (we purchase replacements 6 at a time) and the bottom of the drawer has been screwed on. The groceries have now found an alternate home and the big drawer that was clearly not constructed to hold anything other than a dozen packages of cotton balls is now the home of the abundance of dog toys and treats which are sharing this road trip.

After a quick breakfast and several reassuring mugs of strong coffee we took both dogs for a walking tour of the Sister's Rodeo Grounds (next door to the campground). For more on this adventure please refer to Kallie's personal blog. After figuring out how to arrange the metal puppy pen and kennel so Kallie could only have access to the vinyl flooring, we left the dogs in the motor home and headed to Sisters for a few hours of shopping and lots of gallery cruising. Sisters is a great little town and has lots of special events all through the year. Tourism is their major revenue so they do all they can to keep you coming here...and look, it works we're here for our third time.

My wife, Bev and I took a 3 week motorcycle trip from St. Louis to west coast and back in summer of 1983. We remember Sister's very well. One of our favorite areas.
